The Role
The position is primarily responsible for managing our clients team of Mechatronics Engineers, optimising resource utilisation by working in partnership with technical Engineering Delivery Leads to plan and anticipate engineering requirements across all programmes of work, including core technology development.
In this role you are responsible for understanding and supporting career and talent development of your team, ensuring all team members are being technically challenged and advancing their technical skill base along with the responsibility of actively managing overall performance, engagement, and behaviour.
In this role you will ensure the team operates in accordance with all technical and organisational processes and policies, ensuring a consistent technical way of working from team members.
As a capable and qualified Mechatronics Engineer, separate to team management responsibilities and subject to capacity, the Mechatronics Engineering Manager will be able to make expert technical contributions to projects and/or provide technical project management where appropriate.

You have made a conscious decision for a leadership role and love leading teams through building collaborative working structures and enjoy being a tech resource to improve and grow the teams methods and approaches, troubleshooting and problem solving techniques.
We are wanting to see candidates who work with structure but fluid to roll with it as required. Being a matrix organisation, your role incorporates resource allocation requests often with short notice and at times, daily. Therefore, you are a "finger on the pulse" person and are comfortable working with little or no advanced awareness of resource / skill demands.
With strengths in Resource Planning, Goal Setting and Performance Management, you work strategically to distil strategic programmes of work into bite sized components and ensure the skills aligned are adequate for the requirements.
We seek someone who has had 5 years management experience and Mechatronics engineering experience at a senior level.
Possessing a Mechatronics Engineering or Robotics Qualification, you have;
Experience both working within and managing R&D project and programme teams.Experience in design and testing of electro-mechanical solutions.Experience in predictive analysis methods and interpretation of results.Experience of a wide variety of manufacturing methods. Skills and knowledge sort;
Highly capable communicator.Excellent interpersonal skills, used to dealing with a diverse range of people, personalities, and backgrounds.Conflict resolution and problem solving.CAD experience: 3D modelling of complex parts and assemblies, creation of 2D drawings with appropriate manufacturing information. SolidWorks preferred.Hands on skills - Building, assembling, testing of prototypes and early products.Software: C++, Python.Electrical: Altium, SolidWorks Electrical.Design to standards: For example, AS/NZS 4024 Safety of Machinery.Next Steps
