As the largest HVAC Mechanical Services company in New Zealand, Aquaheat specialise in the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC Mechanical services with our clients made up from a broad range of sectors including public health, government departments, education facilities, as well as many of New Zealand's leading blue-chip corporations, large commercial organisations, and manufacturing facilities.
Due to a recent acquisition and increased workload, we have the opportunity to employ an experienced Mechanical Engineer who has the capability to undertake value engineering and design & build work to support one of the leading HVAC Mechanical installation companies in the Central Region with branch locations in Wellington, Palmerston North, and Hawkes Bay.
Reporting to the Contracts Engineer for the Central Region, you will be responsible for: Assisting the Project Team in managing larger and more complex projects within the Central Region by undertaking engineering tasks and preparing construction documents. Providing engineering and technical support to the Estimating and Contracts Departments, including preparation of engineering solutions, design reviews, code compliance, and overall support for the technical delivery and performance of projects. Ensuring projects are progressed to satisfactory completion within the guidelines and constraints of contract specifications, industry standards, quality, and budget. Understanding the client or main contractor requirements in conjunction with appropriate Codes, Standards, and Technical Solutions. Ensuring all projects are planned, executed, and delivered in accordance with the agreed methodology, specifications, project timelines, and within budget. Qualifications and Experience: Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering. Ideally IPENZ membership or equivalent. Extensive experience in complex mechanical services projects and technically proficient in all aspects of Building Service Engineering. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage expectations of key stakeholders. Commercially astute, with experience in the timely preparation of calculations, design modelling, and engineering support. Accurate maintenance of records and ability to report on contracts in accordance with established Company protocols and policies. Management of hazards and risk assessments in accordance with Company policies. Commissioning experience. Experience in Word/Excel is essential, Microsoft Project is favourable. We are looking for someone who has a genuine belief in providing excellent customer service, is highly motivated with a "can do" attitude.
