Re-Generate is a rapidly growing engineering consultancy, primarily operating in the dynamic and expanding renewables sector. We currently have offices in Christchurch and New Plymouth and employ 40 staff. Our primary focus is delivering specialised energy and water solutions, encompassing a wide range of commercial activities such as consulting, design, supply, specialist services, and contracting. The company primarily operates within the hydro-generation sector, but also leverages its specialist skills and services across a diverse array of industries, including wind and geothermal generation, gas, heavy industrial, and municipal sectors. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Project Engineer to work on a variety of projects for a range of blue-chip clients across Australia and New Zealand.
Candidates must have a mechanical engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant industry. Candidates will have a broad understanding of mechanical engineering combined with strong project management competencies. You will be both an analytical and practical person, who enjoys working in a team environment. You will also have a high degree of commercial nous and be able to interact with our customers on both technical, commercial, and operational issues.
The role will work inside or lead project teams to assist with the delivery of new and refurbished hydro generation and general mechanical equipment. You will have exceptional engineering knowledge, an ability to relate to all engineering disciplines and be able to manage engineering review.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion. Lead the development of concept designs and leverage strong communication skills to gather information from various stakeholders ensuring the best decisions are made. Design and develop mechanical systems and components for hydro generation plants. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met. Review technical drawings and prepare specifications, and project documentation. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Provide technical support and troubleshooting during project execution. Monitor project progress and report on performance metrics. This is a multi-disciplined role where you will be exposed to a wide variety of engineering and project management disciplines as well as commercial activities.
