Description Pacific Coilcoaters (aka ColorCote) is the market leader of pre-painted steel and metal products in New Zealand. We are part of Fletcher Building, a diversified global building industry company. We are on the look out for a Mechanical Fitter to join our team based in Penrose, Auckland. Working Monday through to Friday with on call duties on a weekly rotating roster . This is for an afternoon shift 2pm-10:30pm .The mechanical fitter is responsible for assembling machine parts and installing, maintaining, and repairing plant and equipment. For this role you must have: A working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems with an ability to read schematic drawings 5+ years' experience in heavy industrial maintenance environments, in a production environment at a relatively influential operational level, or within related plant environments like cement, steel, plastics, dairy, pulp, and paper Ability to prioritise work and factor commercial and health & safety requirements into maintenance plans. Assess and reduce hazards in the work place and complete hazard forms as required Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently collaborate, co-operate and share information around faults, issues and actions required with key plant stakeholders. Take active responsibility and lead by example in Health & Safety guidelines and procedures. An ability to work autonomously and independently. Ability to undertake limited electrical work will be an advantage You will have a NZ recognised mechanical trade certificate and manufacturing plant experience, a clean drivers licence and be able to either obtain or retain a fork lift " F" endorsement.
