Join a friendly and supportive team Auckland Based Busy and challenging role Monday – Friday (7:00am to 3:30pm) $28.93- $42.20 per hour *Depending on experience and Mechanical Engineer Level* What you'll do: Working as a Mechanical Engineer Tradesperson, you will be kept busy in our depot with the inspection, servicing and maintenance of our rolling stock fleets, predominantly Wagons, Locomotives and Passenger. The primary focus of this role is to carry out the various maintenance checks and repairs as set out in the Maintenance Plan to the standards required in the Mechanical Codes and Instructions, ensuring the assets reliability and availability. What you'll need: Previous or limited experience in various specializations such as: Electrical, Diesel, Fabrication, Coach Building, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Automotive Mechanic (All levels of experience, including entry-level, will be considered for the role) Previous exposure to a heavy trade or automobile industry, machine upgrades, or experience working with wagons, locomotives, ships or similar is ideal but not essential Ability to evaluate and interpret hydraulic & pneumatic control diagrams, electrical schematics and enjoy fault finding and process improvement Knowledge of relevant Engineering specifications and sound engineering practices High level of physical fitness, team spirit and be Health and Safety focused What you'll get: Support and ongoing training - KiwiRail will support your development if you are willing to expose yourself to the opportunities and you are keen to learn and grow with us Full PPE Provided Discounted travel, health insurance and holiday homes across NZ as part of the Staff Welfare Trust scheme 4 Weeks Annual Leave About KiwiRail: Our people are everything.
