The opportunity We have a superb opportunity for a seasoned Engineer, with at least 6 years' post-graduate experience gained within a manufacturing / production / heavy industrial environment to join our Foundry Leadership team. You will develop knowledge, understanding and experience of casting technology to add to your already solid engineering skillset. Being the only continuous casting manufacturer of copper alloys in Australasia, we are considered experts at what we do.
The role will include managing a team of direct reports; there is scope for this to grow as your leadership skills combined with knowledge of our manufacturing processes, plant and equipment broadens. Joining a highly specialised, central engineering team will provide you with ample opportunities for future professional development and growth.
Reporting directly to the Foundry Operations Manager, you will:
Work to execute and improve our manufacturing management system (PDCA cycles) relating to production efficiency, cost management, production yield, reliable delivery. Lead others; direct, mentor and develop technical staff, effectively manage external contractors. Manage engineering projects efficiently and effectively, including managing change. Deputise for the Foundry Operations Manager when required. To be the perfect fit for this role you will bring: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours. 6-8 years' previous engineering experience obtained in a manufacturing/ production/ industrial environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing systems. Demonstrable practical aptitude. Keen enthusiasm and drive to further develop oneself and people leadership skills. IT expertise including aptitude for data analysis, manipulation and presentation. Understanding of quality systems and ISO 9001/14001 desirable.
