Mechanical & Electrical Services Manager Listed 20 days Ago Port of Tauranga Energy and Utilities Port of Tauranga is New Zealand's largest port and international freight gateway. In Tauranga, we boast a diverse and extensive property portfolio which spans across 190 hectares of land. 
Our facilities include the country's largest and fastest-growing container terminal, extensive bulk cargo wharves and storage facilities, bunker berths, and infrastructure to host 24.5 million tonnes of annual import and export cargo. This includes roading and rail networks, operational plant, buildings and amenities. 
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to lead our Mechanical and Electrical team which is responsible for maintenance and development of key plant on the port. 
This leadership position reports directly to our Property & Infrastructure GM, and is responsible for a team of 25 Industrial Electricians and Fitters, plus contractors who supplement the team to meet the demands of our 24/7 business. 
We're looking for a people-centric leader with strong technical competency to ensure business continuity and functional excellence of our core infrastructure.
The role is varied and requires an individual who is diligent, approachable, and thinks critically to solve complex business problems in a dynamic operational environment. You will be responsible for:
· Delivering high performing mechanical and electrical services across Port of Tauranga assets that meet statutory, regulatory and best practice requirements for our current and future state.
· Leading the team to co-ordinate and implement maintenance tasks on plant and equipment including container cranes, electrical installations and hoppers.
· Effectively leading, supporting, monitoring and developing infrastructure projects to enhance safety and operations across the business.
· Preparing budgets and asset management plans for key plant.
· Staying up to date with the latest technological innovations to ensure the most efficient solutions.
· Growing and developing the capability of the team to deliver on future strategic aspirations. 
To be successful in your application, you will be: • Experienced leading a team of skilled tradespeople in a complex industrial environment. Specific port industry experience is not essential however would be an advantage.
• Suitability qualified with an Engineering or Electrical qualification. Experience with high voltage electrical infrastructure and an understanding of the electricity supply market is essential.
• Passionate about learning new skills and developing your leadership capability.
• An effective communicator who deals with people in a professional and considerate manner.
• An innovative problem solver and confident decision maker.
• Strongly focused on health, safety and the environment.
The successful candidate will be asked to demonstrate their experience to meet these criteria.
Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand is required. Port of Tauranga is a drug and alcohol free workplace.
