They currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented and passionate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team at the dockside for a full-time, permanent position. 40 hours a week (8am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday). The purpose of the role is to provide end to end delivery of engineering project solutions including concept design, 3D modelling, engineering calculations, developed and detailed design work, production of workshop fabrication drawings, workshop support and commissioning support (where applicable). Collaborate, problem solve, learn and develop your skills amongst the entire engineering team of eight, to ensure successful project deliveries.
What the role entails: Developing and detail engineering designs and projects using SolidWorks 3D software.Provide design support work to in-house fabrication workshop including generation of dxf files.Project manage smaller engineering projects from inception through to completion and commissioning.Component sourcing.Releasing and controlling hard copies of manufacturing drawings to the workshop.Monitoring production and seeking feedback from workshop staff during manufacture of designs. Coach and mentor junior staff.
