Mechanic/Hydraulic Fitter for Queensland Branch About the business and the role BA Equipment Group is expanding and requires an experienced Hydraulic/Mechanical Fitter. Established in Brisbane & Perth in 2012, our mission is to provide outstanding customer service to our hydraulic attachment customers in the civil, construction, demolition, quarrying, and mining industries. From our Service Centres located in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth, our highly motivated team maintains first-class sales, service, and hire support.
BA Equipment Group is the official distributor of Epiroc hydraulic hammer and demolition attachments in Queensland, Victoria, Northern Territory, and Western Australia, and is the exclusive servicing and spare-parts agent for Transmin's range of rock breaking boom systems in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.
Your focus will be providing mechanical and hydraulic expertise to support the team both in the workshop and onsite. Reporting to the Leading Hand, you will be an integral part of the team, facing the client in many situations.
The desired candidate will have relevant experience and a proven track record in delivering successful outcomes. Your mechanical aptitude and hydraulic skills will allow you to become an integral part of the team in a multifaceted business.
Job tasks and responsibilities Pre-deliver new equipment. Strip, assess, and report on equipment repairs in accordance with manufacturer's manuals and drawings, conducting work in a timely manner to support the sales and service activities of the branch.
Carry out hydraulic installation of attachments on mobile and fixed plant equipment and accurately carry out flow and pressure checks using a flow meter and other diagnostic tools during installation to ensure that the attachment works as designed.
Read, understand, and work accurately from General Assembly and Specific Engineered Drawings (Mechanical and Hydraulic).
Assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and assessment/diagnosis of equipment provided to BA Equipment Group for service and repair.
At short notice, be willing to travel and work onsite for short periods of time as required for equipment installation and servicing.
Skills and experience Relevant Mechanical Engineering Trade
Proven recent hydraulic industry knowledge
Ability to record and process documents daily
Familiar with construction, quarry, and mine site environments for fixed and mobile plant maintenance
Confident to liaise with clients and suppliers
Physically fit to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and DAS
A proficient and motivated work ethic
C class manual driver's license and Forklift license are essential
Dogging and Rigging qualifications are desirable
Safety-conscious attitude, understanding all aspects of WHS site conditions.
