About the roleWe are looking for a motivated and skilled Mechanic - Automotive +/- Marine to join our team in Pauanui.
We are a busy workshop maintaining and repairing both automotive and marine vehicles.What you'll be doingDiagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of automotive issues, from engines and transmissions to electrical systems and brakes, as well as trailer and small engine work.Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and services.Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety.Providing exceptional customer service and advice to clients.What we're looking forMinimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanic, with a strong automotive background.
Marine experience is a bonus but not essential.Formal qualifications NZ Certificate in Automotive Engineering (light or heavy) Level 4 or a relevant trade certificate plus WOF inspector certificate is preferred but not essential.Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of issues.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients.A valid driver's licence and the ability to work in a team environment.We are not an accredited employer for immigration, so you need to live in New Zealand and have a visa to work.Position is full-time; however, we would consider part-time or contract for the right candidate.What we offerOngoing training and development opportunities - WOF inspector training.A supportive and collaborative work environment.Flexible work arrangements to maintain a healthy work-life balance.Discounts on our range of automotive and marine products and services.About usPauanui Automotive & Marine is an automotive and marine services business with a reputation for excellence.
