Fuel your passion As a Materials Engineer, you will primarily work in a metallurgical laboratory and mechanical testing facility. As well as this, you will undertake desk-based assessments of equipment.
You will use the findings from these works to solve client problems and guide them towards better equipment management.
As a Materials Engineer, you will be responsible for : Undertaking failure analysis, metallurgical assessment and materials testing for static and rotating equipment in the Pipeline, Process and Power industries
Undertaking metallurgical assessment and materials testing to support fitness-for-service assessments
Undertaking metallurgical assessment and materials testing to support internal development initiatives
Performing basic fitness-for-service and remaining life assessments in accordance with industry standards
Participating in occasional field and inspection support at industrial facilities
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will : Have a Bachelor's degree in materials or mechanical / materials engineering or related field of study
Have a major in metallurgy (or equivalent) and / or corrosion science
Have a good base knowledge of metallic materials commonly used in industrial equipment, including general material properties, microstructures and common damage mechanisms
Have good oral and written communication skills
Be a team player and display good communication skills, able to work solo
Have relevant work experience in materials engineering and / or engineering consultancy, up to 5 years
Have an evidence-based approach to problem solving and ability to be methodical in pursuing a solution
Have experience working in a metallurgical laboratory environment, including preparation of metallographic samples and metallurgical microscopy
Have experience working with plant in the process, pipeline and power generation industries
Have ability to travel domestically and internationally for occasionally field work at client facilities and for business development activities
