You will undertake desk-based assessments of equipment, using the findings to solve client problems and guide them towards better equipment management.ResponsibilitiesUndertaking failure analysis, metallurgical assessment, and materials testing for static and rotating equipment in the Pipeline, Process, and Power industries.Supporting fitness-for-service assessments through metallurgical assessment and materials testing.Supporting internal development initiatives through metallurgical assessment and materials testing.Performing basic fitness-for-service and remaining life assessments in accordance with industry standards.Participating in occasional field and inspection support at industrial facilities.QualificationsBachelor's degree in materials or mechanical/materials engineering or a related field.Major in metallurgy (or equivalent) and/or corrosion science.Good base knowledge of metallic materials commonly used in industrial equipment, including general material properties, microstructures, and common damage mechanisms.Good oral and written communication skills.Team player with good communication skills, able to work independently.Relevant work experience in materials engineering and/or engineering consultancy, up to 5 years.Evidence-based approach to problem solving and ability to be methodical in pursuing solutions.Experience working in a metallurgical laboratory environment, including preparation of metallographic samples and metallurgical microscopy.Experience working with plant in the process, pipeline, and power generation industries.Ability to travel domestically and internationally for occasional fieldwork at client facilities and for business development activities.Work in a way that works for youWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
