Te Hiringa Matua is dedicated to supporting hapu mama and whanau affected by alcohol and other drugs. Our mission is to empower families through Matauranga Maori healing practices as our approach, ensuring holistic support that resonates with our community's values and traditions.
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Mataora/Clinical Team Leader to guide our dynamic team of Mataora. In this pivotal role, you will lead, advocate for, and collaborate with our team members to foster a culture of healing and resilience among whanau in distress throughout Te Tairawhiti.
This is a Permanent full-time position, based in Gisborne, with some travel within the region.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Proficiency in Matauranga Maori healing practices or a strong willingness to learn and engage in active wananga.
Experience in clinical leadership, preferably in addiction support or mental health services.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by hapu mama and whanau in the context of addiction.
Lead and support a team of Mataora, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, culturally competent care.
Advocate for the integration of Matauranga Maori healing practices in service delivery.
Foster a supportive environment for team members to grow and develop their pukenga/skills.
Engage with whanau to understand their unique needs and provide tailored support based on feedback informed treatment & best fit.
Facilitate & participate in active wananga for team development and community engagement.
Collaborate with local organizations and stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
Full, clean NZ Driver License.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates a range of skills, knowledge, and attitudes that contribute positively to the organisation's purpose.
Able to establish a good rapport with people.
Commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity in all interactions.
