Job Description It's an exciting time at Z and there is plenty to talk about! We are building our communications team and have an opportunity to join our skilled, passionate, and tight-knit Corporate Affairs Business Unit. As a Matanga Whakawhitiwhiti Whakaaro Communications Specialist you will support the team with a range of communications mahi, like taking the lead on managing relationships with external providers and developing communications in service of the strategic communications plan.
As this is an intermediate level role in the team, we want you to bring a solid base of communications skills and will offer you plenty of learning and growth in a fast paced, commercial environment. Sound like the right move for you? Let's korero!
You will have the opportunity to
Work across both internal and external communications, as well as support government and media. relations
Take the lead on our relationships with external suppliers, and be responsible for briefing in content
Draft media releases and proactive content, in service of the strategic communications plan
Keep our Z website and intranet up to date
Support with some administrative work within the team and step up to support functions of the team as needed
Qualifications What you'll bring to Z
Experience in either internal or external communications in a private or public sector environment, with about 3-5 years communications experience
A collaborative approach to work, this role will work across the communications team and contribute to a range of areas
Knowledge of content management systems
Exposure to the workings of government would be helpful but not essential
A solid working knowledge of social media platforms
The ability to build and manage relationships both at Z and externally

The base salary range for this role is $96,900 to $114,000 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
