The Matanga Tautoko a-Aropa will be required to model a recovery-oriented approach to working with Whanau Whaiora, Whanau, and their respective community to embrace Whanau Ora Outcomes.Kia ekena a angitu | To promote success in this role, you will haveNew Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Social and Community Services) (Level 4) with strand in Mental Health and Addiction Support.Lived experience with Alcohol and other drugsA minimum of three (3) years in recoveryGained or working toward minimum Level 4 Mental Health & Addictions Framework trainingCurrent Peer Support training, up to date Wrap Plan or ability to obtain (training provided)DAPAANZ registered or in a position to work towardsBeen trained in Boundaries and EthicsKnowledge of and demonstrate an understanding of recovery approach in AOD Services in line with Service User, Consumer and Peer Workforce document Te Pou (2014)Experience or ability to demonstrate an understanding of whanau goals and recovery outcomesAn understanding of Whanau Ora outcomesAn understanding of Maori models of health and the application of the Treaty of Waitangi in practiceThe ability to demonstrate practical understanding of the aspirations and challenges facing Maori communitiesExperience in applying tikanga Maori as it applies in the role (desirable)A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.This is a real opportunity for you to action meaningful change for your clients/patients and the communities you are working with.
