Te Oranganui is an iwi governed organisation that was established in 1993 to improve access and service delivery of health and social services to Maori in the Whanganui Region. Te Oranganui delivers a wide range of health and social services to all people in Whanganui and throughout the region.
Te Oranganui's aspiration is to become the leading innovator within Maori health care while taking a whanau-centred approach to improving the wellbeing of whanau and addressing individual needs within a whanau context.
To achieve this goal, we are putting in place a new, strategic level executive leadership team to empower the organisation to develop and drive through the change placing whanau at the centre of service design and delivery. The executive leadership will challenge the status quo and lead innovation and strategy to achieve improved and equitable social and economic outcomes for whanau.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity The Mataiawa - Operations will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering whanau led integrated community-based services to improve wellbeing outcomes for whanau. Mataiawa - Operations will also be responsible for designing and leading the cross-functional operating model according to lifespans, with ownership of communities of practice to enable this.
Key responsibilities include:
Offer a critical contribution to the Executive Leadership Team as well as lead and unite the Senior Management Team to work effectively across the health, education, justice and social service sectors Identify new innovations and knowledge for Kaupapa Maori service delivery, and improve practice capability and capacity Work with the management team to establish integrated relevant care pathways, implement best practices and improvements to an individual's and whanau experience Manage stakeholder engagement and partnerships with critical roles to support strategic direction and service delivery Lead and develop relevant community-wide Communities of Practice Mou| About you Significant experience in a strategic leadership role ideally within a variety of industries including health and social services Demonstrated success in developing and implementing high quality strategic plans and initiatives Demonstrated experience in leading large multi-disciplinary teams Proven track record in building, maintaining and influencing relationships and partnerships Developed experience in programme development, design, implementation and managing a range of programmes and projects Insight into complex health needs and social issues facing Maori Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of audiences and inspire support Understanding of the local context in which Te Oranganui operates Te Oranganui offers a flexible and supportive work environment along with great role benefits including additional annual and sick leave, and a company vehicle.
