The Scholarship, first awarded in 2006, supports a young American winemaker to travel to New Zealand to intern at Craggy Range for the 2025 harvest. The Doug Wisor Memorial Fund will provide return airfares from the US, whilst Craggy Range will provide a modest salary for the duration of the harvest, which runs from approximately March until May 2025. At the completion of the vintage, the recipient will also be given a unique opportunity to tour New Zealand's diverse wine regions, with visits to iconic producers organised by Craggy Range and a travel bursary up to $1000 US for transport and accommodation.

The Role
We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to fill our fixed-term Technical Assistant position, with a primary focus on vineyard data collection from November 2024-February 2025 with the flexibility to work through harvest till April.
As a Technical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in gathering seasonal vineyard data, including shoot, berry and bunch counts and weights. This role will also include pest and disease monitoring and maturity sampling leading up to harvest. In addition to data collection, you will also be involved in carrying out vineyard trials and general vineyard tasks as well as operating vineyard machinery, ATV and tractors as required.
Ideally, you will have previous experience or knowledge of vineyard data collection and vine husbandry as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
