About the Opportunity
Bolton Valley Resort's Sales, Marketing, and Events team is seeking a dynamic and skilled Marketing Coordinator to support the Sales, Marketing, and Events team in implementing our comprehensive marketing, communications, and PR strategies. This role is ideal for a creative, organized, and enthusiastic individual who is eager to contribute to our mission and share in our commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.
Schedule and Expectations
Work Schedule: Full-time (5 days per week) with required availability on weekends and holiday periods.
Winter Commitment: This role is expected to work Saturdays and Sundays throughout the winter season to accommodate peak operational needs. Flexibility to work additional hours during holiday periods is essential.
Scope of Responsibilities
As Marketing Coordinator, you will play a key role in executing year-round marketing initiatives and contributing to an engaging customer experience across digital and physical channels. The responsibilities are shared among team members to ensure a collaborative and effective approach.
Assist in Implementing Marketing and Communications Plans – Participate in developing and executing winter and summer marketing initiatives.
Content Creation – Generate captivating content, including photography, videography, and written blog posts, that reflects the Bolton Valley experience.
Snow Report Support – Assist with daily snow reporting during the winter season.
Database Marketing – Develop and distribute newsletters, manage email marketing campaigns, and engage targeted customer groups.
Public Relations Support – Support PR campaigns, including press release drafting, media tracking, and relationship-building with media contacts.
Social Media Coordination – Collaborate with team members to maintain an active and engaging presence on social media channels.
Website Content Management – Ensure website information is up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with current promotions and events.
Third-Party Content Updates – Manage resort information on third-party platforms, including industry and tourism websites.
Administrative Support – Provide administrative support to the marketing, sales, and events teams.
Event Coordination – Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of on-site and off-site events to ensure successful guest experiences.
Weekend and Holiday Work – Regular weekend and holiday shifts required to support peak operations.
Additional Functions
Cross-Departmental Assistance: Support other resort departments as needed during peak times, including assisting with ticketing or rental services.
Versatility in Tasks: Bolton Valley employees may occasionally perform additional functions within or outside their department, particularly during busy periods.
Customer Service Expectations
The Marketing Coordinator will handle customer inquiries primarily through social media, email, and website forms. Professionalism and courtesy are essential in maintaining Bolton Valley's commitment to excellent customer service.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Content Creation: Proficiency in producing high-quality photos, videos, and written or social media content.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Digital Proficiency: Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems (WordPress experience is beneficial).
Visual Skills: Basic photo and video editing abilities or a willingness to learn.
Growth-Oriented Mindset: Openness to ongoing learning and professional development to meet evolving role requirements.
Personal Traits: Honesty, kindness, and a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
Skiing or Snowboarding Skills: Intermediate to advanced ability in skiing or snowboarding for content capture on the mountain.
Work Environment
Indoor Work: Majority of work is performed indoors, involving prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
Outdoor Work: Occasional outdoor work includes skiing or snowboarding for capturing content, requiring exposure to varied weather conditions.
