We provide leadership, support, and expertise to enhance the wellbeing of our region's people through physical activity.About the role:Sport Otago seeks to employ a Marketing and Communications Coordinator on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave through to 19 December 2025.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), however part-time hours could be considered for the right candidate.As our Marketing and Communications Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in promoting our mission and ensuring our initiatives are recognised within the community.
You'll be responsible for creating engaging media content, developing marketing and communication policies, and managing our brand presence.Your role will encompass:Developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan to promote Sport Otago's work.Managing external communications and assessing promotional effectiveness.Establishing internal policies with leadership support.Creating engaging multimedia content and executing social media programmes.Coordinating the production of key organisational documents, including Sport Otago's Annual Report.Collaborating with staff for authentic stories and responding to community inquiries.Staying updated on social media trends and refreshing website content.Promoting Sport Otago's brand consistency across all materials.Assisting staff with content design for digital and print media.Participating in field activities to gather and create content.Building media connections for effective programme coverage.Coordinating with the Insights Lead for regional data placement.Analysing social media and website performance metrics to optimise user experience.Using market research to guide strategies and content development.To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:A minimum of two years of marketing and communications experience, with an appreciation and love of sport, active recreation, and physical activity.A proven flair for creating engaging multimedia content, including video and photography.Experience in brand management, content management, website management, and social media.Proficiency in MS Office, Google Docs, Instagram, Facebook, and multimedia tools.Creative thinking and strong data analysis skills.Experience in project management, data collection, analysis, and report writing.Excellent relationship-building and emotional intelligence.Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.Alignment with Sport Otago's values and culture.Knowledge of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.A collaborative approach to teamwork.Culture is important to us, and we want to hire the right people to support our mahi.
