Job Description This role is for a Marine Surveyor to work on a casual basis, predominately in Nelson and/or Picton; however, can be expected to carry out surveys across the South Island.
This is a casual role which will require evening/night and weekend work.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Draft Surveys of dry bulk vessels.
Bunker/Discharge Surveys for Liquid Cargo (Oil, Refined Fuels, LPG, Bitumen and other chemicals).
Vessel On and Off hire Surveys.
Vessel's Crane Surveys.
Vessel's Safety Inspections.
Various other marine surveys.
Qualifications Essential Requirements for the role:
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
A minimum of 5 years sea faring experience and/or 12 months as a Marine Surveyor.
Valid NZ Driver's Licence or ability to obtain.
Required Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office - MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
Ability to perform physically demanding work activities i.e. working at height, confined space etc.
