Interested in working with specialist vessels and marine operations?Applications are invited for this exciting position in our growing head office located on Wellington's vibrant waterfront.We are looking for a talented and motivated Operations Manager to work on exciting and dynamic projects across the marine industry. The successful applicant will initially operate under the guidance of Seaworks senior management including the previous Operations Manager with 20 years experience in the position.The successful applicant will ideally be a vessel Master (or similar with extensive offshore experience). A minimum of 2-years office-based experience is preferred but applicants with strong attributes including project or technical management skills will be considered. Your other key attributes and skills will include:High levels of self-motivation and flexibilityTeamwork, strong inter-personal and people management skillsFlexibility to support Seaworks' vessel operations, with after hours / weekend work being requiredHigh standard of written EnglishSound computer literacyFriendly and honest personalitySeaworks provides comprehensive marine services and general offshore works including: vessel supply, remote operated vehicle (ROV) services, diving support services, hydrographic survey operations, general project management and technical consulting services. We work with clients involved in the marine sector across a wide range of industries, including submarine cables, aquaculture, offshore energy, hydrographic survey, conservation, environmental survey, film and salvage sectors.Working as part of the tight-knit Seaworks Project Management team, core tasks for our Operations Manager will include:Project planning and operational implementationManage vessel and crew logistics, crew rostering, personnel engagement (progressively assuming responsibility for these)Core involvement in Seaworks' quality, health, safety and environmental systems and how they relate to operationsInvolvement with the ongoing maintenance and management of Seaworks' vessels including preventative maintenance systems and maintaining the companies Maritime Transport Operator Plan (MTOP) compliance with the industry regulator (Maritime NZ)Willingness to work aboard Seaworks' vessels from time to timeThe successful candidate will have excellent opportunities for career development and progression while working as part of a small operational and management team.Applicants are required to have an existing New Zealand passport or permanent residency, a valid full driver's license and to be non-smokers.Salary will be agreed depending on capability and experience.
