Why become a Whanau Advisors? Whanau advisors aim to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of whanau as they support their loved ones through recovery within mental health and/or addiction services. Discover what whanau require and expect from our services and collaborate with staff and management to access specific supports or implement improvements for better care and treatment across all our services.
Value all whanau voices collected and shared with us Ensure accurate representation of whanau voices and views in relevant forums Provide advice on service planning and improvements based on actual whanau experiences Identify and recommend significant improvements to the Whitiki Maurea Services leadership team Must have experience supporting a whanau member with mental health/addiction issues and their engagement with health services Able to engage with whanau and advocate for their needs to various healthcare professionals Understands and is committed to the principles of recovery from mental health challenges Practices resilience and wellbeing strategies personally and at work Clear verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Confident in using Microsoft suite applications Holds a current NZ driver's license (minimum a 'restricted') Come and join us - Nau mai, uru mai When you join us, you become part of transforming the health system.
