Maori Health Promoter - National Bowel Screening Programme

Details of the offer

Part time 0.5FTE (40 hours per fortnight) Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora provides the national bowel screening programme (NBSP) to eligible people aged 60-74 years.
Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora expects to achieve bowel cancer screening rates of 60% for all eligible Maori men and women between the ages of 60 to 74 years.
The current participation rate for eligible Maori men and women living in the Waitemata area is 52.6%.
Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Waitemata is looking for an exceptional Health Promoter to raise awareness and participation of the free national bowel screening programme in our area, particularly in the Maori community. Strong relationship skills are important, as is the ability to engage well with our eligible age group, 60-74 year olds.
The ideal candidate would be innovative, resourceful, highly motivated, and a strong team player who already has strong links within the community. Knowledge of tikanga and Te Reo Maori are essential, and you must be available for evening and weekend work, both locally and across the wider Auckland region when required.
This position is part-time, working 40 hours per fortnight. We are based in Takapuna; however, we work across the whole Waitemata region.
For further information, please contact Sandra Skipwith, Health Promotion Team Leader at 021679287, or ph: 484 0235 or ******.
