Skip to content Community Development (Community Services & Development) Waitaha Primary Health (WPH) has responsibility for the provision of primary health services to approximately 50,000 enrolled patients in Canterbury, and contracts with Te Whatu Ora and a number of other health funders.

Share your Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Ao Maori and Tikanga knowledge to support all members/kaimahi of the WPH team, including General Practice teams.
Bring your leadership skills to guide our Maori Health team including Whanau Ora Navigators and Pae Ora Kaiururangi Navigators.
Leadership experience in supporting the delivery of Kaupapa Maori services Demonstrated leadership of Tikanga and Kaupapa Maori values in the workplace A high level of competence and confidence communicating in te reo Maori Confidence in understanding Te Tiriti O Waitangi and its application today Relevant tertiary qualification in te ao Maori, management, or leadership desirable Proven experience and knowledge of the Health and Disability sector and Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022 Local connections and networks in the health and/or social sector, government agencies including NGOs, Iwi and Hapu Expertise in planning, report writing and supporting the development of whanau focused programmes Demonstrable commitment to achieving equitable Maori health outcomes Ability to develop and facilitate Professional Development opportunities both internally and with our general practice teams Ability to think strategically while managing daily functional responsibilities Ability to develop rapport with others and to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams who work with other diverse populations within our organisation Full and current Driver's Licence Te Tiriti o Waitangi - Treaty of Waitangi We are committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its five principles, thereby ensuring our partnership with Maori is at the forefront of all our conversations.
