Manukura | Team Leader Te Puni Rohe| Regions Te Puni Kokiri | The Ministry of Maori Development Otautahi | Christchurch The largest of our geographic areas, the Te Waipounamu Rohe is a well networked, mobile and agile one.
We have an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Manukura | Team Leader to bring their knowledge and understanding of policy to our Otautahi | Christchurch office.
Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity The Team Leader is a key member of the region's leadership team supporting the Regional Director to enact Te Puni Kokiri's strategy and inform policy.
They are the key conduit between the office and the community, and will attend hui, manage important relationships and make decisions as part of their role.
The Team Leader supports the regions to deliver through: Gathering community level intelligence on needs, issues and opportunities and developing region specific approaches to improving Maori wellbeing based on this information.
Being involved in, and potentially leading cross agency negotiations and forums.
Administering regionally applied funds with responsibility for ensuring proposals are accurate and comply with Te Puni Kokiri investment guidelines.
Plan work, and significant projects identifying timelines and priorities.
Organise and allocate resources and report on progress.
Managing individual and team performance in a collaborative way.
Supporting kaimahi through day-to-day advice, support and guidance.
Building and developing capability and wellbeing within the office.
The appointment range for this role is between $110,165 - $136,403 per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.
Ko wai koe | About you Knowledge of hapu, iwi and whanau structures within the region, including well established networks with Ngai Tahu, and understanding of the 18 Papatipu Runanga in the Rohe.
Some knowledge of local industry sectors, regional government agencies and key partners and providers.
Experience working in project or programme delivery in Maori communities, working within and with government and working collaboratively with others to get work done.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
This includes having a conversational level of te reo Maori.
Knowledge of Tikanga Maori, are comfortable in a te ao Maori environment and have a broad understanding of Tiriti o Waitangi.
Ability to set, track and measure team performance, enabling kaimahi to perform in a supportive, mentoring environment.
Clean full driver's licence, with the willingness to work across the Rohe when required.
