Manu Ka Rere Clinical Youth Community Practitioner Stepping Stone Trust We have an exciting opportunity within our Manu Ka Rere team, where we work in collaboration with Odyssey House to support rangatahi (13-24 years) and their whanau who are experiencing mild to moderate mental distress and/or AOD issues. The successful candidate will be working in partnership with Odyssey House to provide plans, goals and outcomes ensuring that the needs of the individual and their families are met and enabling them to recognise their sense of agency and citizenship.
The Clinical Practitioner will be part of a passionate team to support the implementation of plans, goals and outcomes to ensure that the needs of the individual and their families are met and supporting rangatahi to access services to increase their motivation, wellbeing, and engagement.
You will:
Support Manu Ka Rere across Waitaha Canterbury to work alongside young people and their families who have been referred via Secondary Care, Primary Care, High Schools and other agencies.
Support mental health programmes for rangatahi, supporting their successful implementation, development, and evaluation.
Assist in the development and provision of a comprehensive, high-quality service for rangatahi and their whanau/families who are accessing the service.
Assist in the delivery of a service that honours Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
Assist in developing and fostering a passionate and empathetic team that works alongside rangatahi, honouring the Manu Ka Rere/CYMHS model.
Assist in the implementation of a varied programme suitable to the therapy needs of clients in treatment incorporating clinical and non-clinical approaches.
Support the development of professional relationships with other service providers that also work with rangatahi e.g. secondary care, primary care, High Schools, other NGO agencies, Specialist Mental Health Services, and whanau/family support networks.
Permanent Part-time (20 hours per week), negotiated between the days and hours of Monday-Friday 8.30am - 5pm.
Paid Sick leave (after three months permanent employment).
Paid Birthday leave (after six months permanent employment).
Internal training and development opportunities.
You will:
Have a relevant formal tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling or Allied Health equivalent.
Experience in the mental health, health and/or addictions sectors.
Have Full Registration with a Professional Body within their field.
A willingness to commit to and support the bicultural journey that Stepping Stone Trust is on as we live out our partnership under Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
Have confidence in working alongside rangatahi.
Strong organisational skills for managing your workload alongside good verbal and written communication skills.
Possess an engaging communication style and have the ability to relate and connect with rangatahi via several platforms e.g. online, individual and/or in groups.
Have a strong (intermediate) level of computer literacy.
Have some experience in managing teams and facilitating groups of rangatahi.
Have a full, clean driver's license.
