Manager Talent Management and Leader Development Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission leads the public sector to perform for New Zealand. The Leadership Development Centre (LDC) is a business unit within the Commission and is the primary vehicle for delivering public sector leadership development. Our focus is creating Public Service leaders united around a spirit of service and skilled in working together to achieve positive results for New Zealanders. We deliver programmes, resources and experiences that help public servants grow the breadth and depth of their career.
The Manager Talent Management and Leader Development reports to the Director of the LDC and will lead a team delivering a range of interventions to lift system capability and support a strong pipeline of leaders ready to lead at a system level. This role is a fixed term role to June 2026.
We are seeking candidates that can bring hands-on experience working with senior and executive level leaders as well as being a leader themselves. Candidates should know the contemporary tools of talent management and how to put systems and processes in place to support a high-performing team. They must be able to navigate ambiguity, see connections, build relationships, and use influence to impact the system.

This position usually pays between $130,171 to $159,588, depending on skills and experience. In exceptional circumstances, a higher salary may be considered. The maximum for the band is $181,651.
