Job DescriptionThe Development Office (DVO) is the University-wide office responsible for helping NUS secure philanthropic contributions for the University. We are seeking a pre-major gift officer to manage a portfolio of donors, which include individuals, corporations and foundations. Reporting to the Deputy Director, the ideal candidate is responsible for facilitating all phases of the gift cycle, including cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors to retain and increase donations. He/she should have great communication skills, excellent relationship building abilities, and time management capabilities. In addition, he/she should be meticulous and results-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with other faculty, colleagues and volunteers.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEstablish and build strong relationships with assigned donors by understanding their interests, motivations and philanthropic goals.Develop personalised digital engagement and direct marketing strategies, including thank you calls and emails, letters, university updates, event invitations, progress reports, appeals and other activitiesLead the messaging development, design and processes for effective and impactful donor communications.Maintain up-to-date records in the database of donor engagement and interactions.Upgrade and refer potential donors to major gift officers or legacy gift officers.Contribute to performance tracking and reporting.QualificationsSelf-starter that enjoys calling donors, developing relationships, and soliciting donations. Comfort in "cold calling".Proven track record of securing donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations in higher education or in philanthropy preferred. Alternatively, related experience in relationship management, sales or marketing ideal.Strong active listening skills and excellent interpersonal, presentation, and persuasive skills, both written and oral.Collaborative, driven and self-motivated with strong multi-tasking skills.
