The team interprets existing GHG emissions standards, implements new standards, develops training to uplift the capability of our internal teams and our clients, provides subject matter support, prepares communications and thought leadership on GHG emissions, and participates in technical working groups. The team supports both audit and advisory clients.The opportunity:The GHG CoE team has an opportunity for a motivated Manager to join our team and deliver technically excellent work direct to clients through a commercial lens and support the internal GHG emissions technical needs of both KPMG engagement teams and our Advisory practice.This involves dealing directly with clients and supporting a range of divisions within KPMG.This role is initially structured as a 9 to 12-month fixed-term maternity cover, with the possibility of evolving into a permanent position. If extended, given the seniority of this role, there is a pathway to own opportunities and your development within the firm.Day to day you will:Provide technical subject matter support on GHG emissions accounting matters as well as practical implications relating to new and existing standards across various sectors, such as but not limited to the financial service sector and agricultural sector. Subject matter areas would include financed emissions, insurance-associated emissions, facilitated emissions, sequestration and avoided emissions.Develop thought leadership and technical GHG emissions measurement and reporting training material.Maintain a database of technical resources to ensure consistent application of the guidance.Participate in technical working groups relevant to GHG emissions measurement and reporting.Undertake business development activities and work with senior leadership to sell/deliver solutions to clients.Support our assurance and advisory teams with their queries.Coach and mentor junior team members.What you will bring to the team:In depth knowledge in financial accounting, supported by a relevant professional qualification, educational background and/or experience in financial accounting gained in a public accounting firm, corporate or governmental reporting environment.Experience in the financial services sector and/or agricultural sector, ideally from a public accounting firm or industry.Knowledge or expertise in GHG emissions reporting is preferred, or the ability to quickly grasp technical material.Strong technical and analytical skills (an eye for detail and awareness of broader business/value chain issues).The ability to express views and ideas articulately and clearly, both written and verbally.The vision to participate in strategy setting and marketing of GHG emissions accounting advisory services.Good presentation skills encompassing an ability to convey complex concepts accurately and succinctly.Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.Effective organisational and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate with teams and build networks.Effective communication skills as well as stakeholder and relationship management skills.A high level of responsiveness to client needs (both internal and external clients).Self-driven and committed to continuous improvement.Life at KPMGKPMG values diversity in the workforce and we encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply for roles, including individuals with a disability, additional mental health needs, chronic health conditions or who identify as neurodivergent.For disabled and neurodiverse candidates, if you encounter accessibility barriers or if you have access needs and require support to participate equitably in the recruitment process, please phone Enya van Dulm on 04 816 4660 or email ****** offer rewarding careers to talented individuals and a range of benefits to help provide holistic support for your work life, whatever your circumstance.
