ABOUT SERC and AI3 HTCO
Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) of A*STAR promotes public sector R&D in the physical sciences and engineering. At SERC, we:
Support world-class research in A*STAR institutes in a wide range of fields including communications, AI & data science, cybersecurity, modelling and simulations, materials, chemicals, microelectronics, manufacturing technologies and metrology;
Plan and promote research in strategic areas to create knowledge and innovation that will drive the development of knowledge-intensive industries;
Cultivate and engage an extensive network of industry partners via various programmes to facilitate a seamless flow of technologies from conception to commercialisation.
AI3 HTCO coordinates, strategises and catalyses the development and application of AI and data science R&D capabilities across A*STAR, covering Research Institutes in both the physical sciences and engineering as well as the biomedical domain.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manager / Senior Manager in AI3 HTCO, SERC is required to strategise, organise, and drive A*STAR's R&D initiatives in AI and Data Science.
The officer will be part of a dynamic team that shapes public sector research and innovation in AI to deliver economic and societal outcomes for Singapore through:
Strategic planning and forging of collaborative partnerships in AI R&D with Public Agencies partners (including NRF, SNDGO, MCI and IMDA), Research Institutes, Institutes of Higher Learning (including AI Singapore), and industry sectors.
Developing and refining A*STAR's AI strategy through technology foresighting and internal capabilities profiling and review, ensuring alignment with national priorities.
Execution of A*STAR's AI Strategy including aligning and coordinating across A*STAR's headquarters entities and Research Institutes to ensure a coherent and synergistic AI R&D portfolio.
Drive strategic development of AI and Data Science-related capabilities in A*STAR, working alongside leading AI researchers in developing and designing large-scale AI R&D programmes - this can include securing necessary ecosystem support and resources for programme award and execution.
Evaluation of AI-related proposals (targeting external competitive grants and internal seed grants), project reviews and post-award project management.
Supporting A*STAR's Research Institutes in AI R&D project execution and management, including planning for subsequent technology translation and commercialization.
