The Council is a key player in ensuring the District continues to prosper and to support us in this mahi we are looking for an experienced leader to join our organisation as Manager - Property.
As the successful applicant you will be responsible for overseeing the function responsible for the development and implementation of strategies for the management of Council's Land Holdings and property assets.
Based in our new purpose built Civic Centre, Te Iwitahi the role will include reporting to Council managing property asset portfolios to meet strategic goals and performance targets, including Commercial Property, Community Property, Civic Buildings, Forestry Assets, and Whangarei Airport.
You will also provide advisory and support services to other Council departments regarding their property assets and lead negotiations to achieve optimal outcomes for WDC in property transactions, balancing economic, social, and strategic considerations as well as providing exceptional leadership to our newly formed Property Team.
If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role and are eager for us to consider your application you will need to be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
Degree level qualification relating to business or commerce
5 years + commercial property expertise or management of property portfolio within public sector
Understanding and application of current property law
Ability to mediate and resolve conflict in difficult circumstances
A strong strategic approach to business planning and problem solving
Demonstrated success in managing large property budgets
Excellent ability to assess and proactively manage risk
Strong leadership skills that can empower and motivate others to effectively deliver results.
