This is a Senior Leadership role within the Information Directorate at TEC. We are seeking a candidate who is Wellington-based. The Information Directorate delivers the ICT infrastructure and information tools to support the business and develops data, data products, information, and new tools for colleagues, customers, TEOs, and other agencies to support TEC's invest and champion goals. He angitutanga: About the Role Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive - Information, the purpose of this role is to provide leadership over three key functions within TEC: Testing, Agile Delivery (Business Analysis & Projects), and Architectural Services. It is also responsible for developing and maintaining TEC's information systems strategy and underpinning technology roadmap. This role is part of the Information Directorate Leadership team (IDLT). You will be responsible for an overall group of 28 staff, 9 of which are direct reports, with Tier-4 team leaders providing oversight of larger teams. The role would operationalise the team's current functions and contribute to TEC's Key projects such as Tahatu Career Navigator, Data System Refresh (DSR), and our migration to SharePoint. Leading and managing multiple teams across various disciplines. Championing a delivery-focused culture, promoting innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration to build a successful group with clear purpose. Coordinate management of Information Directorate projects and report on all Information Directorate change initiatives. Delivering architectural services to stakeholders across TEC, the tertiary education system, and government. You will ensure stakeholders have guidance to make informed data and technology choices to support functions and processes across the system. Leadership of software and data testing services that provide strong test coverage to mitigate software and data quality issues and risks. Leadership of agile delivery capability and outcomes for the TEC. This role would require a manager who is proactive and driven, has the depth of skills and experience to roll up their sleeves and be the technical expert when required to solve problems, communicate to non-technical people, and provide clear direction and mentorship to staff. You will bring the following: 10+ years of leadership experience leading architectural services and project-based teams with a minimum of 5+ years' experience in agile delivery. Experience in developing a high-performance team culture and knows how to effectively commission work, work through others, and allocate resources. Broad technical knowledge in Architecture with the ability to set standards for architectural artefacts and help to guide Architecture functions of agencies supporting tertiary education and research across the sector. Strong customer focus with a willingness to seek out and involve the rest of the business in defining and delivering the products/services needed in a cost-effective manner. In-depth knowledge and understanding of testing, business analysis, and agile delivery management and can ensure that deliverables from these functions are fit for purpose. Ability to establish and maintain a good network of internal and external relationships by identifying the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups and translating communications/stakeholder engagement strategies into specific activities and deliverables. Contributing to the planning, reporting, discussion, and decision-making of the IDLT. The salary range for this position starts from $163,784 up to $197,687 + 3% KiwiSaver depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
