Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity As our new Manager Procurement Intelligence and Supplier Relationship Management, you will lead our procurement intelligence and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) function, responsible for ensuring NZTA Waka Kotahi is an informed and intelligent client, able to make informed decisions, manage commercial risk, and deliver value for money outcomes for Aotearoa.
The focus of your new role will be to identify, build and develop information, intelligence, and insights which provide ongoing strategic development and improvement of value for money through procurement for NZTA Waka Kotahi and across the wider transport sector, while also driving the implementation of effective supplier relationship management. Leading a newly created team, in one of Aotearoa New Zealand's largest public sector procuring agencies, this role offers an outstanding opportunity to utilise your commercial and supplier management expertise while supporting varied and interesting work.

O Pumanawa | What we're looking for Our ideal candidate will have some or all of the following (but don't worry if you don't tick every box).
Proven experience in roles with a focus on intelligence and insights and engagement
Knowledge of Supplier Relationship Management and an understanding of procurement processes
Strong commercial knowledge and experience of working in complex organisational and market environments.
An understanding and experience in government financial processes, budget, and contract management
Experience leading and managing a high performing team
Experience leading high level strategic, analytical and conceptual thinking, and in continuous process improvement and implementing change initiatives

Procurement is an essential part of how NZTA delivers our critical business functions to support Te Kapehu, our strategic direction. Many functions of NZTA are performed, in full or part, using external suppliers and we are one of Aotearoa New Zealand's largest public sector procuring agencies. NZTA is not only responsible for its own procurement requirements, but it also leads procurement practice across much of the land transport sector.
