Our environment here is part of who we are, and at ORC, we work each day to look after it.The OpportunityWe are seeking a Manager Partnerships and Engagement to join the ORC Strategy & Customer directorate on a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) basis in our Dunedin office.The Manager Partnerships and Engagement is a new role at ORC which will bring together established high-performing roles into one team.
The purpose of the role is to lead the team in building and strengthening ORC's engagement across its work programmes with mana whenua, strategic stakeholders and the broader community.
The role also has a focus on nurturing ORC's partnership with mana whenua and fostering internal cultural confidence along with a way of working that supports Te Ao Maori.As Manager Partnerships and Engagement you will be responsible for:Development of strategic direction for the Partnerships and Engagement team, consistent with organisational frameworks, plans, and objectives.Ensuring workplans prioritise, develop and maintain key relationships, including those with mana whenua.Fostering internal cultural confidence at ORC.Building trust and confidence between Otago Regional Council and Otago's communities through engagement.Demonstrating impact within the community.Championing ORC's Enviroschools regional leadership role.Leading a high performing team that supports the work of the organisation.About YouOur ideal candidate will have:A tertiary qualification in a related subject5 years' experience in a senior/leadership roleA solid understanding of Te Reo Maori and Tikaka in practice, particularly as it relates to local government obligationsExperience and success in improving engagement and relationship managementA good working knowledge of Otago and our diverse communitiesWhat we offerWe recognise and celebrate diversity within Team ORC and are committed to providing a work environment that supports inclusion and equal opportunities.
