Our team supervises a part of the AML/CFT regulatory system, which works to prevent money laundering and financing of terrorism. We are highly engaged, risk-informed regulators who innovate and collaborate to maximise our impact.
You will lead a team of Wellington-based regulators and will be able to undertake the full range of our regulatory activities, including education, engagement, monitoring, and enforcement, while contributing to the work of the wider Regulatory Services business unit.
The government recently announced that the Department of Internal Affairs will become the sole supervisor of the AML/CFT system. As well as leading your team, you will contribute to transitioning to the single supervisor model by working with our fellow supervisors and other stakeholders.
You will be a people-oriented leader with experience of leading through change who looks for opportunities to learn, to support the development of others, and to make continual improvements to our regulatory practice. The focus of the role will be on leading people, not technical detail. Familiarity with the AML/CFT system or another regulatory system is desirable.
This is a fixed-term role to February 2026 to back-fill a secondment.
