The Office of the Secretary (OSEC) supports the delivery of Treasury's responsibilities, supporting the Secretary to effectively carry out their role by providing strategic policy and organisational advice.
As well as having oversight of the day-to-day running of the Secretary's office, the Manager acts as a trusted advisor to the Secretary and uses their strategic policy and influencing skills to support the Secretary to lead the organisation, manage key internal and external relationships, and progress the Secretary's key priorities.

Expertise in economic, fiscal or social policy adviceStrong relationship management and people leadership skillsAn ability to work at pace, and with discretion and integrityExperience working directly with Ministers, Chief Executives and/or public sector senior leadersExceptional collaborator and team player, able to adapt to new teams and working rhythmsDelivery focused and effective problem solverAdaptable and resilient, comfortable working on fast moving and high priority issues as well as dealing with ambiguityAptitude for critical thinking and analytical abilityGood written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly to influence a range of audiencesExperience in OSEC is an excellent way to gain exposure to and influence senior leadership decision-making, make connections across the Treasury, and support all teams to deliver their mahi in line with the Treasury's Strategic Priorities. The role would suit a motivated candidate seeking to grow their policy and leadership skills in a high paced and high stakes environment, working directly with Chief Executives and Ministers.
This role reports to the Director, Strategy and Executive Services (SES) and is a key member of the SES Management team.
