Our City Council Nursery is dedicated to enhancing Porirua's environment by providing high quality plants, trees and shrubs to beautify public spaces, promote the benefits of planting native flora, and support community initiatives.You will:Develop and implement a business development strategyConsistently identify and follow up on new sales opportunitiesCoach, mentor and lead a team to meet and exceed objectivesBuild positive and enduring relationships with internal and external stakeholdersPromote the nursery business and resources to our community and businessesDevelop and implement work programmes and operational schedules to ensure plant supply matches demandEnsure the nursery achieves forecasted income targets and control expenditureHold responsibility for all operations of the nurseryAbout youWe're looking for a dynamic and motivated business development manager to take our nursery into new areas of growth. Ideally, you'll have an appreciation for plants and gardening across a variety of horticulture types.You'll need to show us that you:Have a business qualification or a broad range of business experienceHave several years' experience in a commercial profit-driven environmentHave the ability to grow and manage a successful businessHave people leadership experiencePossess excellent relationship-building skillsWhat you need to do nowCome and join our Parks team and be part of our welcoming and engaging environment.
