Reporting to the Senior Manager Data Collection, your role as Manager | Kaiwhakahaere is key to the success of the Collection Operations group.
The main focus of your role is to coach and motivate your people, to ensure we are implementing the operational and technical direction of Collection Operations and achieving the best possible outcomes and user experience for our customers and suppliers.
Maintaining strong links with internal stakeholders is expected in order to achieve performance and user outcomes.
Initially, you will manage four Team Leaders who are responsible for our National Data Collection teams who collect survey responses from individuals and businesses.
We see you bringing strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and strategic skills to the role and team.
The key focus for the next 6-12 months is supporting the establishment of the newly formed National Data Collection team through reviewing and improving existing processes alongside establishing strong relationships with the wider Collection Operations teams.
This role would suit someone who can bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification and/ or equivalent relevant experience for this role.2 to 5 years previous people management experience leading mid to large teams, including experience in managing a remote workforce.Proven experience (10 plus years) working in a service delivery environment.Strong experience managing operational collection activities, preferably in a regional work environment and/or contact centre type environment.Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.Upholds our proud history of operating with integrity, and being fair, impartial, responsible, and trustworthy in everything we do.Experience using everyday office software including a laptop/tablet, phone, Microsoft suite of products e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Intranet, MS Teams online communications channels for meetings and chat.Written and oral communication skills suitable for a varied audience in a corporate setting.Competency in te reo Maori language or possess a willingness to develop knowledge and competence.
(By 2040 Government aims to have 85% of its workers speaking te reo Maori).Understands Te Tiriti o Waitangi relevance to own role as a public servant and seeks opportunities to better meet the information needs of Maori.
Supports initiatives to increase responsiveness to Maori.We understand transferable skills can come from experience gained from outside of work.
