As the Manager of Medical Services, you will play a pivotal role in providing leadership, support, and strategic guidance to our Medical Officer workforce. You will oversee the operational aspects of medical service delivery, including daily rostering, on-call management, and quality assurance, ensuring that our medical officers deliver high-quality care in line with Te Matatiki o te Oranga.
In this role, you will coordinate service delivery, including clinic allocation, telehealth support, and leave coverage. You'll drive operational efficiencies, support onboarding processes, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to address complex patient needs. A significant part of your responsibilities will include providing clinical quality assurance, managing incident responses, and offering expertise on governance and compliance with standards and legislation.
Additionally, you will partner with the Toi Ora team to embed Matauranga Maori within our quality frameworks, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cultural responsiveness in healthcare delivery. As a leader, you will focus on building team capability, and enhancing our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
You will maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the Medical Council of New Zealand, Ministry of Health, and Te Whatu Ora, to advocate for and advance our healthcare services. With a proactive approach to health, safety, and wellbeing, you'll lead safety initiatives and promote a culture where staff are empowered to prevent risks and enhance the quality of care for all.
You will bring a wealth of experience within the health sector, demonstrating strong leadership and management capabilities, particularly within Primary Care. As a registered health professional, you will possess an excellent ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships, collaborating seamlessly with experts across various technical fields. Your expertise in evidence-based practice will equip you to tackle complex health challenges, and your advanced communication skills allow you to convey complex concepts effectively to our diverse workforce.
You will have intimate knowledge regarding legislative responsibilities of providing health care within prison settings, and you will have a demonstrated commitment to upholding the obligations of the Treaty of Waitangi. Experience in working alongside Maori communities is essential, and you will be dedicated to fostering improved health outcomes for Maori and championing an inclusive approach.
Quality improvement, patient safety, and innovation are pillars of your professional practice, and you have a proven commitment to collaborative, whole-of-system approaches for enhancing health care experiences and outcomes. You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification within the health sector, with a postgraduate qualification preferred.
The full salary range is $144,529 - $204,040. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
