Enphase is seeking a highly effective and driven Manager, Mechanical Engineer specializing in the thermal design to join our high-performing team based at our Research and Development Center located in Middleton, Christchurch.
About the role:Design electromechanical products within strict thermal performance parametersBuild and test prototypes to validate thermal design conceptsIdentify and validate high-reliability materials and components suitable for prolonged environmental exposureConduct thermal simulations to predict temperature distribution and heat flowModel and assess different thermal management mechanismsDevelop and execute test plans to validate thermal performance under varied environmental conditionsPerform accelerated life testing to simulate long-term exposure to environmental factorsAnalyse test data and refine designs based on findingsWork closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineersDocument design processes, test results, and validation proceduresEnsure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulationsOptimize designs for cost, performance, and manufacturabilityWhat you bring:Bachelor of Engineering or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent12+ years' experience in thermal design and analysisTeam leadership, experience managing a team of peopleStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and documentation skillsExperience with CAD and thermal simulation softwareWhat would make you stand out?Experience in power electronics designExperience using multiple CAD and thermal simulation tools, including SolidWorks 3D CAD and SolidWorks SimulationExperience verifying simulations with real-life testingKnowledge of relevant industry standards and regulationsExperience communicating analysis studies and results to a wider audienceEmployee Benefits:Restricted stock units in offerBonus planWellbeing and insurance benefits for you and your familyAnnual performance reviewsOpportunities for career growth and developmentWorking in a well-equipped laboratory and facilityVisa Requirements:Enphase Energy NZ is currently only considering candidates for this role with New Zealand permanent residency or citizenship.
