Deliver positive community impactHabitat for Humanity Nelson (HfHN) is entering an exciting phase as they expand their affordable and community housing offerings across the wider Nelson/Top of the South region.
They're seeking a senior manager to lead the development of the organisation's community housing strategy to maximise quality housing outcomes within thriving communities.
If you have a good understanding of housing policy and urban design combined with a practical ability to turn strategy into a delivered reality, this role could be your opportunity to really make your mark.In this role you will:Create and lead a region-wide policy for land acquisition and housing investment to provide homes and build communities across the region.Stay abreast of emerging trends and changes in public policy in community, urban design and housing and innovative construction.Use market research and analysis to create strategies and tactics and deliver a building execution programme that optimises resources.Create and implement long-term funding strategies.Lead and coach a small team while building strong and effective relationships with the Board, government agencies, philanthropic investors and the wider Habitat for Humanity network of staff and volunteers.Have the flexibility to choose part-time hours between 30-40 hours a week.You'll be successful in this role if you have a:Deep understanding of housing policy, urban development and community housing needs.Strong business or commercial experience and financial competence including budgeting, reporting and risk management, as well as experience in government/philanthropic funding and social investment.Good understanding of the regulatory frameworks around housing, housing funding and urban design.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, network, influence direction and gain trust.Commitment for Habitat's purpose and passion to make things happen and turn objectives into real-world results with people at the heart.HFHN is an Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity NZ, part of the global Habitat for Humanity charity.
