Our Governance team are one of our key support channels for elected members, responsible for the management of Council, all Committees and Community Boards, including liaison with elected members, staff and the public. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead our Governance team, overseeing the governance and associated compliance functions within Dunedin City Council.
The Manager Governance provides strategic advice to elected members, senior management, and the wider organisation, ensuring legislative compliance, managing governance processes, and leading a team to deliver high-quality governance support services.
Ideally you will have:
A Masters degree in a relevant field e.g Public Administration, Political Science, Law etc.
10+ years' experience working in a Governance Support role within Local or Central Government.
5+ years' experience in a leadership and/or management role.
Proven ability to manage budgets, with advanced literacy skills and business acumen.
Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team to perform at their best.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to support organisational goals and strengthen partnerships across all stakeholders.

Salary range: $111,538 - $131,221 per annum.
