A Wellington CBD based client is looking for an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to join their business. This role will initially be contractor cover whilst the organisation formalises a few longer term objectives, and then the role is likely to go fixed term (with chances of permanence too!). The Role The Manager Financial Accounting will oversee and manage the Financial Accounting team to successfully deliver financial accounting services for the organisation. This role will also provide financial assurance and risk management oversight to the organisation. To do this successfully you will perform the following tasks: Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, including the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statements, as well as other external reporting requirements. Provide insights into the organisations financial performance against agreed measures and assess trends, variances and metrics to provide an early indication of risks or issues Oversee the creation and maintenance of the FMIS and associated records. Ensure compliance and audit standards are upheld at all times. Lead transactional function for the organisation. Ad-hoc systems and process improvement About You To be suitable for this role you will ideally have relevant experience in a Manager Financial Accounting role and experience operating a complex First or Second Tier FMIS. You'll be CA qualified and have great people management skills, demonstrated resilience and ability to lead through an uncertain period of change, and exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
