The Finance team is part of WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru's Corporate Group providing financial planning, reporting and advice to the organisation.
Sitting under a Chief Financial Officer, there are two teams, led by the Manager Finance Business Partnership and the Manager Financial Accounting supporting the business partnership and financial accounting for WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru.
O te turanga - About the role The Manager Financial Accounting will lead the team delivering financial accounting services within WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru.
This role will also provide financial assurance and risk management oversight to the organisation.
This role is being advertised as a fixed term role to 27 June 2025 due to WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru entering a period of change.
Ko tou ake mahi - What You'll Do Ensure fit for purpose financial systems are developed, delivered and operated across WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru.
Lead the Accounts Payable/Receivable function.
Work across the organisation in partnership with the wider Finance team to ensure financial policies and processes are fit for purpose.
Support the Payroll function by providing backup support for approving pays.
A tertiary qualification in business/accounting as well as a professional accounting qualification (Chartered Accountant or recognised equivalent).
In-depth experience within financial accountancy, preferably in the public sector.
A willingness to roll up your sleeves to support the team with practical tasks.
Significant experience leading a team of varying skills and knowledge.
Understanding and experience providing payroll support and processes would be advantageous.
