Join the Entec team and help us in delivering world-class Instrumentation and Electrical projects and services across New Zealand's heavy industrial infrastructure.What's the opportunity?We are looking for a seasoned Engineering Manager to join our growing team and oversee our Taranaki-based Engineering and Estimating Division. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and work, long-term, to develop the scale of the role, their team, and our organization.The Manager Engineering and Estimating will play a crucial role in managing and developing a small team of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Design Engineers, and Estimators, ensuring efficient resource allocation, maintaining financial oversight, nurturing client relationships, driving project innovation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.About us:We combine the strengths and capabilities of a corporate structure aligned with strong family business values. We are dedicated to attracting top talent who share our commitment to excellence and innovation in everything we do.The job we have on offer:The Engineering Manager will be responsible for:Contribution to delivering outcomes: Actively contribute to the preparation of tenders/project engineering and work pack creation as required. There is an expectation that initially the Engineering Manager role will be approximately 60% chargeable with a view to reducing this as the team grows.People Management: Lead and mentor a team of Engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.Resource Management and Planning: Efficiently allocate resources to projects, ensuring optimal utilization and adherence to project timelines and budgets.Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the Engineering department, ensuring financial goals are met.Customer Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.Project Innovation: Drive innovation within the Entec Engineering and Estimating Division to bring not only best practice but the continuous development and improvement thereof.Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits package, dependent on qualifications, relevant experience, and any other skills you can bring to the business.Opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment.Career development and growth opportunities within a growing organization.Commitment to work-life balance and employee well-being.To be considered for this role you would need:Experience:Proven experience as an Engineering or Operations Manager or similar role, preferably within highly regulated environments delivering Instrumentation and Electrical construction projects.Level 6 Engineering or PMP qualification.Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, and demonstrate a commitment to health, safety and quality.Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.Financial acumen and experience with budget management.Customer-centric mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, including MS Project.Requirements:Have the current right to work in New Zealand and for at least 2-3 years following the commencement of employment.Be available for a standard working week of 40 hours, with the potential for some overtime as required.Ability to travel for work as required.Expressing interest:If you are interested in joining our team as the Engineering and Estimating Manager, and believe you have the skills, attributes and qualifications necessary for this role, please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you are passionate about this opportunity.Role Type:Office-based • Permanent • Full-time • 5+ years in a leadership role within industrial infrastructure or a related industryPay Rate:Competitive Package on offerApplicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.Apply now for this role or get more information by contacting Mark Strawbridge.
