Work with a close-knit team in the central city.Be part of a significant new area of work.Fixed term to 30 November 2024.It's an exciting time to join us as we lead change across the public service to implement social investment and support Government to achieve better outcomes from social sector spending.Korero mo te turanga | About the roleYou will be supporting the Executive Leadership Team to lead the successful implementation of the social investment approach across the social sector.
We are a small agency so you will need to move easily from strategic thinking to hands-on delivery, including writing content.What you will be doing:Advising our Executive Leadership Team and wider agency.Developing an external communications approach with a clear narrative to support the implementation of social investment.Creating a plan for the next phase of stakeholder engagement.Implementation, including managing our external communication channels.Managing a small team.He korero mou | About youYou will be a senior communications professional who has:Experience developing and implementing organisational external communications strategies, ideally to change behaviour or introduce new approaches across a system.Experience in working with other agencies and a wide variety of stakeholders.Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and concisely in plain English.Strong relationship management and influencing skills, and with a proven ability to build effective relationships with senior leaders.Experience working in a small agency, ideally within the public service.A proactive approach, with initiative to take ownership and a willingness to support the wider team.We know that no one will meet every single requirement for the role.

Starting salaries reflect skills and experience relevant to the role with offers generally made between $167,790 - $197,400.Ko wai matou | About usThe Social Investment Agency is a central agency, set up to lead the social investment approach to improve people's lives and to support the Government to achieve better outcomes from social service expenditure.
Social investment involves using data to understand people's needs and the best prevention points, implementing evidence-based approaches to improving outcomes, and testing that they've been successful.
