The Manager Archaeology/Kaiwhakahaere Poutairangahia provides national leadership for the delivery of statutory archaeological services, particularly under the Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act 2014.
The role provides quality assurance and national consistency in advocacy and advice provided by the Archaeologists/Poutairangahia working across the organisation.We are seeking applications from people with skills and experience in statutory archaeological processes, along with the ability and confidence to make high-level recommendations to assist decision-making bodies such as Boards, Councils, and Expert Panels.
You must have demonstrable experience of working with hapu and iwi to achieve effective bicultural heritage outcomes.A postgraduate qualification in New Zealand archaeology is required.Applications for this position close 5pm Friday, 7 February 2025.
