The Finance team is responsible for monitoring the long-term financial investment delivery plan, covering areas such as Public and Transitional Housing, Infrastructure Investment, schemes to promote home ownership and affordable rentals, and funding to improve Maori outcomes; all of which equates to over $5 billion in the current financial year. The team also manages the operating costs of the Ministry and provides strategic advice to the Senior Leadership team.
Reporting directly to the Manager, Finance Performance and Planning you will be responsible for the financial management within HUD to provide accurate, high quality financial advice to inform strategic and operational decision making.
Working across business groups you will create and deliver monthly and multiyear reporting and bespoke financial advice to inform business making decisions. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to streamlining our financial processes by better leveraging our Finance system.
The salary range for this Wellington based role is $83,796 - $102,418 + 3% Kiwisaver contribution.

You will bring a minimum of 2 years accounting experience in a similar role, with a good understanding of accounting systems and controls.
You will take a collaborative approach to your work, and be comfortable working in an environment that is continuously evolving. A strong team player, and an articulate communicator, you will translate complex financial messages simply and concisely.
