Management Accountant

Fiordland Lobster Company is dedicated to the sustainable fishing and live export of wild-caught Southern Rock Lobster (New Zealand crayfish). About the role We are looking for an energetic team member to join our head office in Te Anau. Supporting both our New Zealand and Australian operations, this role reports to the Chief Financial Officer, and works alongside both the finance and administration teams. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge. Duties will include: Month-end processing and management of accurate financial information Preparation of monthly analysis reports for divisional managers Preparation and filing of statutory requirements Balance sheet reconciliations Preparation of statistical surveys Fixed asset reporting Assist with annual budgets, annual consolidated financial statements and the annual external audit process Supporting the wider finance/admin team and provide back-up when required About you To be considered for this role you will have: Strong Management accounting competencies, including technical and analytical skills Proven understanding of business budgeting and taxation requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to work independently and as part of a small team, with a focus on internal customer service Outstanding attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, with a willingness to learn and administrate new systems Whilst a qualified accountant would be preferred, we are also happy to hear from you if you have a strong accounting background in a similar setting.
