Management Accountant

In this Management Accountant role based in Feilding, you will help shape the financial services at the Council by partnering with managers across the organisation to assist with the Long Term Plan, the Annual Plan and Annual Report.

Areas of responsibility:  Lead the preparation of end of year financial and annual reportsCoordinate and collate budgetary information for inclusion in Annual PlansProvide financial advice and support to managers and internal staffProduce monthly management accountsAttend and contribute to management and team meetingsMaintain general and job cost ledgers through reconciliation of accountsIf you have an interest in systems accounting, there is an opportunity to explore this field further Skills, experience and personal attributes we are looking for:  CA or AT qualified desirable but not essentialSeveral years working as an AccountantProduce accurate management and financial reportingSkilled in analysis, problem-solving and have the ability to see the big pictureEffective communicator, both written and verbalManage time, prioritise, and work effectively with professionalismHighly capable, level-headed, adaptable and has a sense of funSomeone who will work collaboratively, roll up their sleeves and support the Finance team to achieve outcomesTakes ownership, builds trust and always strives for excellenceExperience in local government is desirable but not essentialThis role is 40 hours per week and it is offering a competitive salary, 5 weeks of annual leave, plus a range of benefits including flexibility, a family-friendly environment and support for fitness/wellness.
